About the Author Terri L. Turner

I retired from community service and a 30+ year career as a planner and floodplain manager in 2022. That began the next chapter of my life—literally living out all of my fondest dreams. Life was a grand adventure, and I soaked it all up, experiencing so many "firsts" with family and dear friends that I often had to pinch myself as a reminder that it was all quite real. There was certainly great joy to be found in the world.

After my daughter and granddaughter moved to Texas in the summer of 2024, I moved from the area I had always called home to a cozy cabin in the middle of the woods in the ultra-quiet mountains of Northeast Georgia. Naturally, a whole new realm of firsts emerged on my to-do list.

But my heart was always drawn to my greatest love, my son and daughter, their awesome spouses, and my precious grandchildren. As badly as I wanted to, I could never spend enough time with them. They lived hundreds of miles away from me and had the quite normal obligations of jobs, school, church, sports, extracurriculars and day-to-day routines of young families everywhere. I left a piece of my heart with them each time I came home from a visit.

Somewhere in the midst of it all, God reminded me that there was a creative love inside of me waiting to be shared, not only with my family, but with friends and those I had not even met yet.

Writing children's books became a new first, combining my love of the written word, my education background and my passion for all things environmental into one brightly colored whimsical package of sheer fun—with a little learning mixed in for good measure.

My children's books are also a way that I can be with my grandchildren as they fall asleep at night.  I'm a firm believer that bedtime stories are the best stories that can ever be told.

I hope you enjoy reading my works-of-love, as much as I enjoyed creating them!

Always dare to dream, my friends, because dreams can and will become a reality if you just give them breath!
